Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games venues to receive international review

Technical delegates from four international sports federations began official visits to Valledupar and the Agustín Codazzi sub-site, in order to review the progress of the organization of the multi-sport event in terms of infrastructure, adaptation of scenarios, in addition to logistical conditions, services and competition regulations of the fairs.

Valledupar, July 23, 2026. Paracycling, boccia, Para table tennis and sitting volleyball, are the four sports of the Parasuramerican program of Valledupar 2026 that will initially have the presence of International Technical Delegates (ITD), experts with outstanding experience in world events and Paralympic Cycle, who have the task of endorsing the proposed scenarios for the fairs in the capital of Cesar and Agustin Codazzi, in addition to reviewing details of competition, technical manuals, as well as the logistical conditions for athletes and technical officials of the twelve countries that will be in the Games. 

The visits of the DTIs begin on Saturday, July 25 with the arrival of the representative of the International Cycling Union (UCI), Iverson Ladewig, an outstanding international commissioner of Brazilian nationality, who has developed this function in several important events in the conventional and Paralympic sports sector. Ladewing as DTI of Paracycling of the Parasuramerican Games 2026 will lead the inspection in the roads of Agustin Codazzi, municipality in which the route and the individual time trial of this sport will be disputed.

This advance will continue on Monday, July 28 with the visit of the DTI vallenata Yoanna Ramirez, recognized international judge in events of Olympic and Paralympic Cycle, who was commissioned by International Table Tennis Federation to perform the review of the Centro Cultural de La Música Vallenata, infrastructure in which a proposed space will be adapted as a stage for table tennis. Ramirez with experience in Olympic and Paralympic Games will be responsible for endorsing the CCMV and everything related to the organization of this modality that will be disputed in the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026.

In the same week, the organization of the games will count on the international presence of the delegates of boccia and sitting volleyball, being the Argentine Gustavo Chepi and the Brazilian Cristiana Figueira, the ones entrusted by the international federations that govern both sports. Chepi is one of the experts of Boccia International sport Federation with extensive experience as technical delegate of international events, so his contribution in the development of Valledupar 2026 will be very important, which includes the review of the coliseum of Gymnastics of the UPC, stage arranged for the championship of Boccia.  

Also on Tuesday July 30 and Wednesday July 31, in Valledupar will be present the renowned expert Cristiana Figueira, who has been delegated by World Para Volley to accompany the organizing committee of the fairs. The expert had the responsibility of managing the sitting volleyball championship at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games, in addition to other important events in the world. Together with the DTI, the different areas of the organization will visit the Julio Monsalvo Castilla Coliseum, where the medal dispute in this modality is scheduled to take place.
