The UPC Aquatic Complex will host the para-swimming events at the 2026 Valledupar Parasur American Games, establishing itself as the country’s most modern facility for the sport. Its indoor facility facilitates the hosting of competitions, and it is equipped with auxiliary areas, a press center, a warm-up pool, and a large seating capacity for 600 people, who will enjoy watching elite athletes from the participating countries compete in the Parasuramerican Games in the World Capital of Vallenato.

La Gota Fría Basketball Arena

The Gota Fría Basketball Arena, dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of Caribbean Sports.” With a capacity of over 3,000 people, it was inaugurated for the FIBA Americas U-17 South American Basketball Championship held in late 2023. This modern and impressive sports facility will serve as the official venue for the wheelchair basketball competition at the 2026 Valledupar Parasur American Games, marking the second major regional event to be hosted within its state-of-the-art structure.

Óscar Muñoz Oviedo Coliseum

The goalball competition at the 2026 Valledupar Parasur American Games will feature medal matches at the modern Óscar Muñoz Oviedo Coliseum, a sports venue named in honor of the city’s renowned Olympic medalist. Located within the La Gota Fría Sports Complex, this beautiful arena has a capacity of 900 people. Built in 2022, it features competition areas, support offices, as well as press centers, a meeting room, and broadcast booths for television and streaming.

Multipurpose Indoor Gymnastics Arena at the Popular University of Cesar

The Multifunctional Indoor Gymnastics Arena at the Popular University of Cesar (UPC)—a sports facility built in 2022—will once again host a major multisport event. The Julio Monsalvo Castilla Indoor Coliseum, one of the host city’s most iconic sports venues, will serve as the official venue for sitting volleyball at the 2026 Valledupar Parasur American Games. With its impressive capacity to accommodate more than 5,000 spectators, it has hosted international sporting events and multi-sport competitions during the Olympic cycle, as well as professional indoor soccer and futsal championships, and culturally and educationally significant performances.

Valledupar Tennis Complex

The Valledupar Tennis Complex, with its seven courts—one of which is the center court—stands out as an extraordinary sports facility. Featuring surfaces certified by international tennis federations, the venue has hosted national and international events and is recognized as one of the most important tennis complexes in Colombia’s Caribbean region. These courts will host the wheelchair tennis medal matches at the II Parasur American Games, an event that once again brings South America’s top athletic talent to Valledupar.

José Luis Parada Athletics Stadium

The José Luis Parada Athletics Stadium, named after a prominent sports journalist from the host city, features a track certified by World Athletics, the international sports federation that approved the Italian Mondo Type 2 surface—a surface that will witness the triumphs and performances of the para-athletes at the 2026 Parasur American Games in Valledupar. The field will host throwing and jumping events, serving as the venue where the most medals will be awarded at this multisport event, which paves the way for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games.

Valledupar Vallenato Music Cultural Center

The new Vallenato Music Cultural Center (CCMV) currently under construction in Valledupar is one of the venues set to host the excitement of the second Parasuramerican Games in history. This infrastructure, inspired by the mango tree (a fruit that abounds in the city), will not only serve as a space to pay tribute to and celebrate Vallenato folklore but will also be equipped to become the official venue for the Para table tennis and Para badminton championships of this major multi-sport Paralympic competition, which will take place in the capital of the department of Cesar as the host city.

La Gota Fría High-Performance Sports Facility

The La Gota Fría High-Performance Sports Complex is a modern sports facility that brings together various sports venues built in Valledupar to host a major multisport event of great significance for the city. This legacy of the 2022 Bolivarian Games will once again welcome, at its Oscar Muñoz Oviedo Combat Sports Arena, Basketball Arena, and José Luis Parada Athletics Stadium, host prominent athletes from across the continent, who will arrive in the capital of the Cesar department in July 2026 to compete in the Valledupar 2026 Parasur American Games—a qualifying event that kicks off the Olympic Cycle on the road to the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
