With the participation of the directors of the secretariats: General, Government, Culture, Infrastructure, Public Safety, Sports and Recreation and communications, the working day opened with the participation of the director of Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026, Elmer Jimenez Silva, who detailed generalities of the progress of the organization, highlighting the need to maintain and deepen the articulation with the municipal administration, headed by Mayor Ernesto Orozco Duran.
“It is important to consider the impact that the city will have with our fairs, which are not just a sporting event, because they represent for the city a social and inclusive added value that will put it on the international level. We are forever grateful to the mayor of Valledupar for making the Games a reality, for making it possible for the city to dress up in the Parasuramerican sports festival, which is a social project,” said director Jimenez.






The director of Valledupar 2026 added that, as an organization has a social commitment to ensure the legacy of the Games, so one of the purposes is that, after the competition the city a model of inclusive capital of the Colombian Caribbean.
“We have 11,500 households in Valledupar with at least one person with a disability. Faced with that we have asked ourselves: What city do we think for them? That is why our premise to put our hand on our hearts in this city project so that the city and our country meets the world of Paralympic sport, “he concluded.
