Valledupar, August 28, 2026. The organization of the Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games officially launched its Volunteer program, which is considered one of the most important aspects of the service area in the multisport events. For the games that will take place from July 5 to 16 next year in Valledupar as host city and in Agustín Codazzi (sub-headquarter), more than 700 volunteers are required to support the different operational areas of the competition.
From the accompaniment of the 12 participating delegations, as well as the contribution in key aspects of the event: guiding in the scenarios, assisting in the technical sports area (those who have knowledge of the 13 sports of the Games), communications, infrastructure, ceremonial, protocol and awards, in addition to those who are assigned as ‘attaches’ to accompany the Paralympic Committees of the countries that will compete in the Games.
To be a volunteer in the II Parasuramerican Games, it is required to be over 18 years old, register in the program module available in the Games web portal: www.parasuramericanos2026.com/voluntariado/, fulfill the accredited training plan to obtain general knowledge about the movement and Paralympic sports, use of inclusive language, particularities of the event and -once the volunteers are selected-, attend the basic and specific inductions that the different areas will offer.
Elmer Jimenez Silva, general director of the Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games, was pleased with the call for this important milestone of the event, highlighting the call to the community in general of the host city and the sub-venue. “Living a Games as important as the Parasuramerican Games offers the unique experience of being volunteers, supporting those who visit us and compete from other parts of the continent. If there is a fundamental area of our Games, it is precisely the Volunteers, because they will be a close and direct contact with the delegations, who will take with them the best impression of what we are,” said Jimenez.
The director of the II Parasuramerican Games in the history of Paralympic sport, added that the call for the registration of volunteers is extended to people from all over Colombia and abroad, as usually happens in this type of Paralympic Cycling competitions that have foreign volunteers.
