Valledupar, August 1, 2025. Less than a year before the start of the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026, the organization of the multi-sport event continues to fine-tune details to ensure the optimal development of the fairs, which is why, continue to advance the visits of the International Technical Delegates of each sport of the games, who have the task of reviewing and endorsing the scenarios, in addition to the conditions of competition.
From abroad to Valledupar arrived Gustavo Cheppi (Argentina) and Cristiana Figueira (Brazil), representatives of Boccia International Sport Federation and World Para Volley, respectively, who serve as International Technical Delegates for these two Paralympic sports.
In first order it corresponded to the DTI of boccia, who endorsed the Gymnastics Coliseum of the Popular University of Cesar (UPC), scenario proposed by the organization for the boccia championship of Valledupar 2026, competitions to be held from 5 to 10 July next year.
“The stage is modern, new and also has an adequate infrastructure for the needs of this sport. It is a spacious coliseum, accessible, with adapted bathrooms and very comfortable for the ‘bocheros’, who have a high degree of disability. I am very happy with the place, because it meets all the standards,” said Gustavo Cheppi.
Established for the Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022, four years later the Gymnastics Coliseum of the UPC will again be the scene of a continental event, which enriches its history, positioning it as one of the ‘wonders’ of the sports infrastructure of the capital of Cesar. The coliseum endorsed for boccia of the fairs has an area of 7,500 square meters and capacity to accommodate more than 1,500 people.






Julio Monsalvo Castilla Coliseum with OK for sitting volleyball
.With full capacity for more than five thousand spectators, the Julio Monsalvo Castilla Coliseum is one of the mythical sports venues of Valledupar. This architectural colossus, inaugurated in 2001, will host the men’s and women’s sitting volleyball championships of the 2026 Parasuramerican Games, after the exhaustive review and subsequent endorsement by the International Technical Delegate, Cristiana Figueira.
The DTI, after small observations to the coliseum, gave the definitive yes to the organization to carry out the dispute of the two medals that delivers sitting volleyball in the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026.
“We toured a stage that is very large, in which important sporting events have been developed and that meets for being perfect for sitting volleyball. It is necessary to make adaptations of ramps and bathrooms to leave everything in ideal conditions to serve the Para athletes,” said Figueira.
