Director of Parasuramerican Games 2026 socializes the importance of the Games before the Council of Valledupar

Valledupar, July 08, 2026. Before the honorable council of Valledupar, the director of the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026, Elmer Jimenez Silva, socialized the progress of the organization of the Paralympic sporting events, which will be held in the city from July 5 to 16 next year and in which about 1,200 Para athletes from 12 countries will participate.

In ordinary session of the collegiate body composed of 19 lobbyists, Jimenez told details about the multisport competition that opens the cycle to the Paralympics in Los Angeles 2028, ensuring that Valledupar is preparing to live an event that, in addition to demonstrating the talent of Para athletes, will also show the capital of Cesar as an inclusive city before ‘the eyes of the continent’.

“The games should be the catalyst cultural change of a socially inclusive and accessible city and that this is not only limited to the scenarios and sports infrastructure of Valledupar, but in all dimensions. It is a social project that deserves the participation of all, the sum of wills in the sports institutions and the contribution of the different levels of government: national, departmental and municipal,” said the director of the fairs.

The session was the appropriate space to highlight the sports infrastructure of the capital of Cesar, represented in the scenarios where the event will take place, in addition to the important social, cultural and sporting legacy that will leave the fairs.

Finally, in his speech Jimenez reiterated the invitation to the launching ceremony of the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026 that will take place on Friday, July 11 from 6 pm at the Plaza Alfonso Lopez.
