Agustín Codazzi consolidates its role as a sub-venue for the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026 with a firm commitment in infrastructure, services and organization, projecting itself as a municipality prepared to receive delegations from twelve countries of the continent.
Agustín Codazzi, Cesar, March 24, 2026. As part of this commitment, the municipality initially allocated $800 million pesos for the operation as a sub-venue. To this investment is added the allocation of additional resources in excess of $2,598 million pesos, aimed at the adequacy of sports venues and the improvement of strategic roads, for a total investment exceeding $3,398 million pesos. Among these actions is the intervention in the Sports Village, with an investment of $2,423 million from the General System of Royalties, as well as the improvement of the road ‘La Palizada’, for $174 million with own resources, essential to ensure the mobility and development of Paracycling. As part of the official program, Agustín Codazzi will host two of the thirteen sports of the 2026 Parasur American Games. Soccer for the blind will be played from July 9 to 15 at the Parasuramerican field of the Sports Village, with the participation of high-level teams such as Argentina, Brazil and Colombia, leaders in the international Paralympic panorama. On the other hand, Paracycling will take place from July 2 to 4 in the departmental road ‘La Palizada’, a sport that will award 16 gold medals and will gather the best exponents of the hemisphere. The preparation of the municipality has been accompanied by technical visits of national and international organizations, which have allowed to verify the logistical, sporting and organizational conditions, ensuring compliance with the standards required for an event of this magnitude.

The Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026 will be held from July 5 to 16, with the participation of more than 1,120 athletes from 12 countries in 13 disciplines. The participation of Agustín Codazzi as a sub-venue reaffirms the regional character of the event and its impact on the sporting, social and economic development of Cesar and the country.
