Valledupar, April 17 From July 5 to 16, 2026, the world capital of vallenato, will host the biggest Paralympic sports festival in the continent. With 13 sports in competition, the II Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026 will have the dispute of 310 gold medals, in a competition that will gather 1,105 from 12 countries and that will officially open the cycle towards the Paralympic Games Los Angeles 2028.

The Para swimming leads the distribution of metals with 120 gold medals, to be awarded from July 11 to 15 at the Aquatic Complex of the Universidad Popular del Cesar. The indoor pool of the UPC will concentrate the main hemispheric figures in decisive days to obtain marks, records and progress in the international classification.

At the same time, Para-athletics will be the second major focus of gold medals, with 81 golds at stake, from July 12 to 15 at the José Luis Parada Athletics Stadium, located at the La Gota Fria High Performance Sports Unit. The Mondo track, certified with class 2 and the field, will host events that historically define positions in the medal standings.

Other strategic sports to consider

In the second block of importance appear sports that are determinant for the overall table. Para table tennis will award 22 gold medals from July 4 to 7 at the Cultural Center of Vallenata Music (CCMV), as well as Para powerlifting, a sport that will put 22 gold medals at stake, from July 3 to 6 at the UPC Gymnastics Coliseum.

The Paracycling, with 13 golds that will reward the efforts of the best runners in action on the tracks of the Agustin Codazzi sub-site from July 2 to 4.
