Valledupar, February 11, 2026. More than five hundred children and adolescents with disabilities -students of educational institutions of the capital of Cesar-, benefited from the campaign ‘Todos Somos Útiles’, initiative developed by the organization of Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026, which closed successfully with the delivery of school kits, in an emotional event held in the auditorium Paisaje del Sol of the host city of the multi-sport event.
The campaign ‘Todos Somos Útiles’, framed in the social legacy activities of the games, counted with the contribution of more than twenty-five companies, in addition to entities, sports leagues, national federations and other volunteers who made possible the delivery to children and adolescents, The Colombian Minister of Sports, Patricia Duque Cruz, and the director of the Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games, who led this event prior to the development of the hemispheric games to be held from July 5 to 16, 2026.
The director of the Parasuramerican Games Valledupar 2026, Elmer Jimenez Silva, highlighted the commitment to inclusion, noting that, from the organization proposed to strengthen educational processes and provide tools for school performance of the beneficiaries of the delivery. “Essentially we fulfilled a fundamental objective: to generate inclusion and contribute to the welfare of children with disabilities, reaffirming the social commitment of the Games,” he said.
The Minister of Sport, Patricia Duque Cruz, highlighted the scope of the campaign and its significance within the legacy of the Games: “This act demonstrates that sport also transforms lives from a social point of view. The Parasuramerican Games leave a legacy that goes beyond the competition and directly reaches those who need it most.”.
For the campaign, the organization of the Parasuramerican Games articulated with the Secretary of Education of Valledupar, entity that provided the characterization of the school population with disabilities and made the call for attendance to the event. “I consider that the campaign ‘Todos Somos Útiles’ became a special detail of citizens with children and adolescents with disabilities. It is about including them, and the Parasuramericanos 2026 achieved it, bringing happiness with texts and school supplies,”, indicated, the Secretary of Education of Valledupar, Karol Lobo Cardona.





‘Todos Somos Útiles’ was supported by the Government of Cesar, the Mayor’s Office of Valledupar, the Ministry of Education, Aseo del Norte, Lelek Foundation, the Guatapurí, Unicentro and Mayales shopping centers, the Valledupar Half Marathon, Channel 12, teachers from the Andean Sports Area, Taller Creativo, the Taekwondo League of Cesar and the Taekwondo Federation of Colombia, Club Tiger Valledupar, the Secretary of Social Management, the Secretary of Recreation and Sports of Cesar, Inder Valledupar, Fundación CSH, Asopedic the National College of Journalists, Cesar section, in addition to the support of citizens in general, especially from Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Valledupar.
With this delivery of school supplies to children with disabilities, the social and inclusive approach of the 2026 Parasuramerican Games is reaffirmed, consolidating a legacy that transcends the sports scenario and is projected as a real commitment to equity and territorial transformation.
