Santiago de Chile, October 29, 2025. The director of the Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games, Elmer Jimenez Silva, headed the delegation that presented the progress in the organization of the Games, before the executive committee of AmPC and representatives of 32 member countries, present at the third Assembly of the American Paralympic Committee (AmPC) in Santiago de Chile. In this space, the advance party of the Games showed the progress in the preparation of the multi-sport event that will take place from July 5 to 16, 2026 in Valledupar and Agustin Codazzi.
During the presentation in the southern capital, issues related to service to the games were specified, including: accommodation, food, volunteer program, logistics of the event: transportation, sports equipment, as well as from the field of infrastructure in terms of the adequacy and accessibility of the scenarios, in addition to the plan to promote the games and other communication and marketing services. The Valledupar 2026 delegation seeks to ensure that all aspects of the event are inclusive and accessible to participants and spectators.








“We had the opportunity to present the progress of this whole process of planning and organizing our Games. It has been a clear, honest and transparent work, we continue to move forward with the conviction that the task is being done well and with the firm commitment to make the best Parasuramerican Games in history, “said Elmer Jimenez Silva, director of Valledupar 2026, who took the opportunity to thank the support of the Paralympic Committee of the Americas, and other institutions that support the process, including the Ministry of Sport of Colombia, the Colombian Paralympic Committee, the Government of Cesar, the Mayor’s Office of Valledupar and the Mayor’s Office of Agustin Codazzi.
With the presentation of the progress made at the AmPC Assembly, Valledupar 2026 reaffirms its commitment to the organization of a high-performance sporting event that promotes inclusion and Paralympic sport as tools for social transformation.
The Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games represent an inclusive social and sporting project that will strengthen the region, especially Valledupar and Agustin Codazzi, by boosting the local economy, projecting their tourism potential and consolidating them as accessible and inclusive cities, besides being an opportunity to show the hospitality and organizational talent of those who will receive the Paralympic sporting talent of the hemisphere.
