This Friday, March 27, will be the countdown of the 100th day of the start of the most important Paralympic sport event in Colombia, a milestone that reflects the organizational progress and institutional commitment in the final stretch of the organization of the Justas.

Valledupar, March 24, 2026. The capital of Cesar is preparing to mark a symbolic, decisive moment on the road to the 2026 Parasur American Games. This Friday, March 27, the city will host the official countdown ceremony 100 days before the official start of the Games, a date that not only marks the proximity of the event, but also evidences the articulated work between the organization of the Games with the Paralympic Committee of the Americas, the Ministry of Sport, the Government of Cesar and the mayors of Valledupar and Agustin Codazzi.

The event scheduled from 5:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Departmental Library Rafael Carrillo Lúquez, will bring together authorities, entities linked to the project, athletes and citizens in general, in a space that will show the country and the continent the progress in the organization of the II Parasuramerican Games in the history of Paralympic sport. This is a milestone awaited by the host city, the sub-venue, the Paralympic Committee of the Americas and the sports community of the 12 participating countries, becoming an opportunity to project the state of preparation of Valledupar 2026 a few days before its inauguration.

“In the final stretch of the organization of our multi-sport event we have this key milestone as is the countdown of the 100 Days in which we will present how we are doing in planning, as well as the scope of our efficient coordination with the official entities linked to the project. Likewise, touring the city with the message of the countdown allows us direct contact with the citizens, with this Valledupar that is always motivated and open to be part of events as important as the Parasuramerican Games,” said Elmer Jimenez Silva, director of the Parasuramerican Games.

Jimenez added that beyond the countdown, this act symbolizes the commitment to inclusion, sport and the consolidation of an event that seeks to leave installed capacity and strengthen the Paralympic movement in Colombia. The day will continue with a tour called the ‘Parasuramerican Route’ through the main avenues of the city, led by Tobalito, official character of the Games that will carry the message of inclusion, integration and citizen participation.

The route will end at the Parque de La Vida, an emblematic space for meeting, leisure, recreation and promotion of inclusion, where the city joins this moment that marks the final stretch to the Games.
