“We attended this historic national congress that has allowed us to know the benefits and great opportunities that Colombia has in terms of sports tourism. Today we are proud to present the presentation of the Parasuramerican Games and receive this important award as a reference city for inclusive sports tourism in Colombia, which, besides being important, increases the responsibility we have in the organization of our multi-sport event,” he said.
The director of Valledupar 2026 added that this recognition is an important step for the city, as it reflects the effort and dedication of the people who have worked to position Valledupar as a destination for inclusive sports tourism, and will generate a positive impact on the economy and the image of the city.
The recognition given to the organization of the Games on behalf of Valledupar is an important step to position the city as an attractive destination for sports tourism in Colombia. In this sense, the Valledupar 2026 Parasuramerican Games will be a catalyst to boost economic development, the improvement and adequacy of infrastructure and the provision of inclusive tourism services in the region.



With the support of the Ministry of Sport of Colombia, the Government of Cesar and the Mayors of Valledupar and Agustin Codazzi, the Parasuramerican Games will be held from July 5 to 16, 2026, with the participation of 1,120 athletes from 12 countries, who will compete for 485 gold medals in 13 Paralympic sports, in venues of the venue and sub-venue. This competition is especially significant, as it paves the way for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Cycle and is the only major event of its kind that the country will have in that time, which will undoubtedly generate a lasting impact in the region.
